Paul was fantastic during my time as a trainee. He is knowledgable, passionate and willing to share all he knows. He listened to what I was hoping to achieve and definitely pushed me further than I would have pushed myself.
Also, the fact he was willing to meet up with me (I lived local) every now and then added so much value.
I would highly recommend Paul if you are looking for a running coach
Started a coaching relationship with Paul in November 2021 and so far have had high-quality, well structured training plans that are flexible to my lifestyle and my needs. Communication is regular with frequent feedback after the big sessions which really help me understand how to continue improving. Really excited to see what I can achieve in 2022 with Paul’s support & coaching.
Simply the best coach you could ask for! Paul has helped me turn my amateur relationship with the sport into my passion. With tailored weekly training plans, 121 sessions, advice on nutrition, recovery, running kits recommendation and so much more… Paul has coached me at every step of my training journey. Following his plans has kept me disciplined and fully ready for each race and I have managed to give a PB at every race.
I feel so fortunate to be trained by an elite runner like Paul. I couldn't have done the things I have done without Paul’s knowledge, experience, encouragement and input and it’s been a fantastic journey. Thank you Paul, I couldn't recommend you highly enough.
I've worked with Paul for 10 months now and across that time I've raced 5k's, 10k's, half's, and the marathon distance and obtained PB's at every distance - My Marathon time improved a huge 11 minutes and helped me to get my Boston Qualifier which was one of my big goals when I started working with Paul.
I have further goals to hit and with Paul's advice, structured training plans and his willingness to answer any question I have, no matter how un important it could be he gives me advice on everything. Paul is a great coach and has made time to run with me, as well as giving me all of the advice I need, I feel more comfortable lining up for races too knowing we have discussed the plans prior. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone
Since working with Paul for only a couple of months I have hit 2 new PBs in 10k and in the 1/2 marathon. His knowledge and experience combined with his love for running and his runners make him one of the best coaches out there. Always a call/message away if you have a question and just a top bloke in general. Have already recommend him to friends. Couldn’t recommend him enough!
Nothing more to say but incredible. So grateful to have come across Paul. Such a great human and great coach. Always supportive of his runners and always wanting to help. I’ve started training with Paul 18 weeks ago now and have managed to break the sub 3 hour marathon 🧿🙏🤞. Paul sets out great plans for his runners to improve and break personal bests! Highly recommend Perfect Splits Running if you’re looking to start taking your running serious and looking to improve!
I signed up with Paul 16weeks ago to coach me with the aim of a marathon PB. With me in a predominantly sedentary job, Paul was very flexible and motivating in keeping the sessions interesting, relevant and flexible around my job. He was always on hand to answer any questions I had and also made time to have a couple of sessions in person to suit my schedule, which were fun, but structured and friendly in nature. Despite a couple of setbacks due to sickness and some muscle strain, there was no panic to “catch up” but instead adapting sessions that followed. I’m absolutely delighted to have taken almost 19minutes off my previous PB at Chester marathon recently. If you want to improve your running at any distance, Paul is your man
Paul is absolutely excellent at understanding your objectives, the parameters within which you are going to have to work regarding other life commitments, then providing structured, challenging, but realistic training that helped me to find a level of performance in my 40s that I hadn’t reached for a number of years and not since before a major injury setback. The training is genuinely personalised, and his communication is exceptional, giving you trust that what you are being asked to do really is tailored to your exact requirements. Also a thoroughly lovely and supportive guy!
I've been lucky enough to benefit from unofficial 'coaching' from Paul before he even became a coach; from perusing his meticulous training logs relating to each of his (progressively faster) marathons, friendly advice on training schedules, race plans, nutrition and even shoe choices in the lead up to target races, and most recently, and most helpfully, pacing services at this year's London Marathon.
Paul helped a club-mate and I smash our PBs at this year's London Marathon, having kindly offered to pace between 2:35 and 2:45 marathon pace as a training run (some training run!) and duly helped both of us run sub 2:40 marathons for the first times in our lives (and with even / negative splits which was a huge psychological boost vs. the rest of the field naturally slowing down in the second half). Paul kept us on track and motivated throughout the race.
There can surely be few amateur club runners who can match Paul for marathon improvement, pace and consistency, so I'm sure his invaluable experience as a runner will filter through to top notch coaching services, whether you're looking for a big improvement or just a refinement of training plans / PBs. Who knows; maybe he can help you shave 7 minutes off your marathon PB like he helped me to this year!
