NEW FOR 2025: BOOK A COACHING SESSION FROM £35 PER HOUR -ENQUIRE VIA 'CONTACT' TAB
After not being too active (in the running sense) during most of my twenties, I found my passion for running whilst entering and training for my first half marathon in 2010. In 2011 I ran my first marathon (customary massive positive split and crawl to finish line!).
By 2013 I went sub 3 hour for the first time at the Chicago Marathon, and two years later I went sub 2:30 at the New York Marathon for 34th place (see above pic), still one of my favourite running moments.
In the following years, I have improved my marathon PB several times in races such as Berlin, Tokyo, Chicago and Valencia. My current marathon PB stands at 2:23:10 from December 2022 at the Valencia Marathon. I have represented England at V35 level for the half marathon. In addition to Coaching, I am currently in training for a Summer 5K (race TBA) and, despite being eligible in the V40 category, I still haven't given up on lowering my PBs further....
Prior to the 2017 Chicago Marathon I spent an unforgettable month training in Flagstaff, Arizona. During this time, I developed good first hand knowledge around the key principles of altitude training.
Like most people, I have endured many a poor race, injury setback, lack of motivation and confidence. It is during these times that I have learnt the most, not just about myself but about running generally.
I have launched Perfect Splits Running because I am incredibly passionate about running and the positive impact running can have on peoples lives and the wider community in general. My goal is your goal - my passion for running can help you achieve your running potential.

The UESCA Running Coach Certification represents the new standard in coaching education. The certification was developed over a 6-year period by reviewing the latest peer-reviewed sports science journals and through feedback from our seasoned team of professionals.
The goal of this certification is to inform and educate aspiring coaches on the science behind running and the application of this information in a way that is easy to understand.
The running coach certification consists of 22 robust online training modules. The modules represent the latest in research-based sports science and are designed to be an all-encompassing resource for those looking to become certified running coaches.
Coach development and learning does not cease after successful completion of the course. Coaches are provided with latest scientific research and are engaged with fellow Coaches. This encourages a dynamic, progressive approach to coaching. All Coaches are required to either write a science based paper or complete a re-test every 2 years to keep their qualification valid.
